Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of mobile RPG I keep recommending. You lead a party of four across a crumbling kingdom, and the writing actually holds up. Choices in dialogue change who joins you and how certain regions react later, which gave me a genuine reason to think before tapping.
Combat is turn-based with a positioning twist: where you stand on a small grid affects your skills. Early on it feels basic, but by mid-game you're juggling elemental combos and shield timing. Leveling is generous without being mindless, and gear drops feel meaningful.
There's an energy system that gates hard grinding, but the main story never locks behind it, which is the right call. I finished the campaign in about fifteen hours and immediately started a new run to see the other paths.
What we liked
- Branching story with real consequences
- Grid-based tactical combat
- Story never paywalled behind energy
